Rhynchostylis, the 'foxtail orchids', are monopodial vandaceous epiphytes with thick strap leaves and dense, pendent, cylindrical sprays of fragrant, waxy flowers resembling a fox's tail. Warm-growing and sun-loving, they are best grown bare-root in baskets and are popular in tropical gardens.
