Una piccola succulenta sudafricana che forma clumps di foglie appuntite che si arrossiscono di bronzo-rosa al sole.
Bright light with several hours of direct sun keeps the small rosettes compact and well-coloured. Insufficient light causes stretching and loss of the reddish tones.
Water sparingly, letting the soil dry completely between waterings. Very drought-tolerant; reduce to almost nothing in winter. Overwatering quickly causes rot in these tiny succulents.
Very gritty, fast-draining mineral succulent mix. A high proportion of pumice or coarse sand is ideal.
Likes warmth 18–30 °C; keep above 7 °C. Prefers dry air.
Feed at most once or twice in spring/summer with a heavily diluted succulent fertilizer. Generally needs very little.
Minimal pruning — remove shrivelled leaves. Propagates readily from offsets and the fine silvery hairs (in some species) prefer not to be wetted. Non-toxic.
