Considered the finest in the genus, Catasetum pileatum bears large, waxy, usually ivory-white to yellow male flowers with a broad shell-like lip and rich fragrance. A warm, seasonal grower requiring a strong wet/dry cycle. The national flower of Venezuela in one interpretation.
