Pieno sole. Richiede almeno 4-6 ore di luce solare diretta al giorno.
Usare SOLO acqua distillata, piovana o deionizzata. Il terreno deve essere sempre umido (metodo del sottovaso).
Mix di torba bionda di sfagno e perlite (50:50). Mai usare terriccio universale o concimi.
In inverno entra in dormienza obbligatoria: deve stare al freddo (0-10°C) e con meno acqua.
Grows best at 20-32 °C in summer. The Venus flytrap generally needs a cool winter dormancy of about 0-10 °C for 3-4 months - essential if grown outdoors or exposed to cold, and without a yearly rest most plants gradually decline. Appreciates high humidity but needs good airflow.
NEVER add fertilizer to the soil - it burns the sensitive roots and kills the plant. It feeds itself by catching insects; outdoors it catches its own, indoors you may occasionally offer a small live or rehydrated insect to a trap.
Cut off blackened traps and spent leaves at the base. Most growers remove the flower stalk, as flowering drains a lot of energy. Do not trigger the traps for fun - each trap only closes a limited number of times before dying.
