Guida alla cura

Luce

Bright, indirect light to some direct sun; areca palm likes the brightest spot that avoids harsh midday scorch. In low light it thins and yellows.

Acqua

Keep the soil lightly and evenly moist, watering when the top 2-3 cm dry out. Sensitive to fluoride/salts (brown tips) - use filtered water. Avoid both drought and waterlogging. Reduce in winter.

Substrato

Light, ben drenante miscela di terriccio with peat/coir and perlite/sand.

Temperatura e umidità

Warm, 18-27 °C; keep above 13 °C. Prefers moderate to high humidity; dry air causes brown tips and spider mites.

Concimazione

concimare mensilmente in primavera e estate with a equilibrato palm fertilizer (with micronutrients); palms are prone to magnesium/potassium deficiency.

Potatura

Remove only fully browned fronds; never cut the growing tips. Non-toxic - safe around pets.
