Bright, indirect light, a little less than Cattleya, to ripen the pseudobulbs and encourage flowering. Avoid direct midday sun on the soft, pleated, often deciduous leaves.
Water plentifully while in active growth, keeping the medium evenly moist. As the leaves yellow and drop in autumn, reduce water for a cooler, drier winter rest, then resume when new growth starts.
Free-draining but moisture-retentive epiphyte mix (medium bark with some perlite and sphagnum).
Cool to intermediate, 12–25 °C with a night drop; high humidity in growth, drier during the rest.
Feed weakly weekly during active growth; reduce or stop during the winter rest.
Remove the deciduous leaves once yellowed and any spent spikes; handle the soft new growths carefully. Non-toxic.
