Do not fertilize the soil. These tropical pitcher plants feed through their pitchers - outdoors they catch insects; indoors you can drop the occasional small insect or a few drops of very dilute orchid fertilizer INTO a pitcher (never on the roots).
Trim spent pitchers and dead leaves; cutting back long vines encourages branching and basal growth (and provides cuttings). Use only rainwater/distilled water, as these plants are sensitive to minerals.
