Alocasia amazonica è un ibrido orticolo compatto del genere Alocasia (famiglia Araceae), ottenuto incrociando specie originarie dell'Asia tropicale. È apprezzata per le spettacolari foglie a forma di freccia, verde scuro con vistose venature bianche o argentate e margini ondulati, che la rendono una delle piante da fogliame più d'effetto per la coltivazione indoor. Nonostante il nome commerciale evochi origini amazzoniche, la pianta è di discendenza sudorientale asiatica e predilige ambienti caldi e umidi.
Bright, indirect light brings out the dramatic veining and dark foliage; avoid direct midday sun, which scorches the leaves. Too little light slows growth and dulls colour.
