Alocasia reginula
Alocasia reginula è una specie miniaturizzata originaria del Borneo, appartenente alla famiglia Araceae, considerata un piccolo gioiello da collezione grazie alle sue foglie compatte ma di straordinaria bellezza ornamentale. Il fogliame è vellutato, quasi nero con un profondo riflesso metallico viola e una venatura argentea contrastante, tale da conferire a ogni foglia un aspetto quasi dipinto a mano. Le sue dimensioni ridotte la rendono ideale per terrari e vetrine umide, dove può essere apprezzata da vicino.

Luce
Bright, indirect light brings out the dramatic veining and dark foliage; avoid direct midday sun, which scorches the leaves. Too little light slows growth and dulls colour.
Acqua
Keep the soil lightly and evenly moist during active growth, letting the top 2-3 cm dry slightly tra un'innaffiatura e l'altra. Sensitive both to drought and to soggy soil - aim for consistent moisture and reduce sharply in winter when many go semi-dormant.
Substrato
Use an airy, chunky aroid mix (bark, perlite, coir) that holds some moisture but drains fast. Compacted, water-retentive soil leads to root rot.
Temperatura e umidità
Warmth-loving, 18-28 °C; keep above 15 °C. Loves HIGH humidity (60%+) - low humidity causes crispy edges and spider mites. Avoid cold drafts, which trigger leaf drop or dormancy.
Concimazione
Feed every 2-4 weeks in primavera e estate with a equilibrato concime liquido at a mezza concentrazione. Do not feed in winter.
Potatura
⚠️ All parts contain ossalato di calcio crystals - tossico per pets and people and irritating to skin; wear gloves. Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base. If the plant goes dormant, keep the tuber barely moist and warm until new growth appears.
