Dactylorhiza fuchsii is one of the commonest European wild orchids, with dark-spotted leaves and dense conical spikes of pale pink to lilac flowers marked with darker loops and dots. A cold-hardy terrestrial of grassland, woodland and dunes, dormant in winter.
