Low to medium indirect light — this is a 'jewel orchid' grown for its velvety, veined foliage and does NOT want bright light, which bleaches the leaves. Excellent for shadier spots and terrariums.
Keep the soil/medium consistently lightly moist (it is a terrestrial orchid of forest floors), never soggy or fully dry. Use tepid, low-mineral water and avoid wetting the foliage.
Light, humus-rich, free-draining terrestrial mix (fine bark, perlite, sphagnum/leaf mould).
Warm, 18–27 °C; keep above 15 °C. Loves HIGH humidity — ideal for terrariums.
Feed weakly weekly at quarter strength with a balanced orchid fertilizer during growth.
Trim leggy stems to encourage branching; cuttings root very easily in the mix. Remove spent flower spikes. Non-toxic.
